AK-47 Assault Rifle, 12 Cannabis Plants, and Marijuana Found in 39-Year-Old Resident's Home in Garni
Recently, the Kanaker-Zeytun police department received operational information indicating that a 39-year-old resident of Garni village was cultivating, using, and storing drugs and illegal weapons near one of the factories in the village's Banavan neighborhood.
A criminal case was initiated by the Kotayk police department. On July 23, officers from the main department for combating illegal drug trafficking of the Criminal Police, along with regional law enforcement from Kotayk, Kanaker-Zeytun, and Kotayk, conducted a search in the area adjacent to one of the factories in the Banavan neighborhood of Garni.
As a result, 12 cannabis plants, 2 semi-dry plants, a substance resembling marijuana, an AK-47 assault rifle with a silencer, and a magazine containing 23 rounds of 5.45 mm caliber ammunition along with 21 additional rounds were discovered. The findings have been sent for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
