Russian Police Apply to Moscow Court for Arrest of Three Azerbaijanis
The police have applied to a Moscow court for the arrest of three Azerbaijanis. The TASS news agency reports that the Azerbaijanis participated in an interethnic mass brawl that took place in the southeast of Moscow.
The fight involved Armenian citizens and occurred in the Maryino district, resulting in one person being injured. The police have initiated a case under the articles of hooliganism and robbery.
“Motions have been received regarding the selection of arrest as a measure of restraint for Hamidov, Valiev, and Zavidov. The examination of the motion will begin in the coming days,” the court stated.
Relations between Armenians and Azerbaijanis residing in Russia and other countries have recently soured following clashes at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
