Over 2,230 Children Aged 0-18 Infected with Coronavirus in Armenia; 158 Suffer from Pneumonia
As of July 17, a total of 2,230 children under the age of 18 have been confirmed infected with COVID-19 in Armenia. The youngest patient is a newborn aged between 0-28 days, according to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia in response to an inquiry from Armenpress.
Among these children, 1,134 have been assessed as having mild to moderate symptoms, while 12 are in serious condition, and 1 is in critical condition. Pneumonia has been diagnosed in 158 children, with 925 cases being asymptomatic.
Out of the infected children, 1,231 are boys and 999 are girls. As of July 17, 1,665 children have recovered from the virus.
The highest number of infected children is from Yerevan, totaling 1,125 cases. Other regions include Vayots Dzor with 29 cases, Kotayk with 266, Tavush with 33, Shirak with 105, Lori with 54, Ararat with 146, Aragatsotn with 74, Syunik with 31, Armavir with 131, and Gegharkunik with 165 cases. Among the confirmed cases in children, 71 are foreign nationals.
