Russia to Discuss Peacekeeping Initiatives with Armenia and Azerbaijan: Zakharova
Armenia and Azerbaijan are presenting various initiatives aimed at strengthening peace. This was announced today during a briefing by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We are discussing this issue with the parties involved. We hope that after the lifting of international travel restrictions, opportunities will arise to develop the full range of issues related to the resolution of the conflict. A number of statements have been made calling for restraint from the parties and maintaining the ceasefire regime. Such calls have also come from the Russian presidential administration and the foreign ministry. Sergey Lavrov has had telephone conversations with his Armenian and Azerbaijani counterparts. This week, he discussed the situation in Moscow with the ambassadors of Armenia and Azerbaijan. There is also cooperation in the military departments,” she noted.
