«Joghvourd». Argishti Kyaramyan Will Appoint a Deputy from the Prosecutor's Office
«Joghvourd» newspaper reports: According to information from «Joghvourd» daily, the Director of the National Security Service, Argishti Kyaramyan, intends to appoint a deputy director from the prosecutor's office.
It is known that on July 17, 2019, the deputy director of the NSS, Robert Bazikyan, was dismissed from his position, which he had held since December 20, 2019. «Joghvourd» daily also reported that Robert Bazikyan had submitted his resignation along with the former NSS director Eduard Martirosyan, but the latter did not sign his resignation to avoid creating the impression that personnel were leaving the system after Kyaramyan’s appointment.
We also spoke with Bazikyan, who told us in our conversation that he left the system based on long-term service, stating that there are absolutely no other issues.
Now, Argishti Kyaramyan is trying to fill this position with existing personnel from outside, specifically bringing in a representative from the prosecutor's office.
This is not coincidental; the fact is that Argishti Kyaramyan has held various positions within that system for two years and knows what is happening in the prosecutor's office from the inside. In particular, Kyaramyan worked in the Republic of Armenia Prosecutor's Office from June 1, 2016, until June 6, 2018, first as a prosecutor in the Shirak region’s prosecutor's office and then in the Yerevan city prosecutor's office.
Having this experience in mind, he has decided to bring someone from that system as his deputy. «Joghvourd» newspaper contacted the NSS press service, where they urged following the official news releases.
