Azerbaijanis Made an Incorrect Assessment of Armenian Positions: Sergey Minasyan
Sergey Minasyan, Armenia's extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Romania, gave an interview to the reputable Romanian television channel Digi24 regarding the recent escalation provoked by Azerbaijan at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
According to Armenpress, the ambassador stated: "This is a situation where we have an escalation of military activity at the internationally recognized border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. It seems that the Azerbaijanis have made an incorrect assessment of the defensive positions of the Armenian army, considering them to be less strong than, for example, in Nagorno-Karabakh. It appears that we currently have a fragile ceasefire in the Tavush region."
The ambassador emphasized that according to statements from the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, there has been no change in the technical aspects of the Armenian positions. He considered it important that the Armenian army possessed such weaponry, but has never threatened to damage those pipelines, in contrast to the Azerbaijani approach. "The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has issued threats concerning the bombing of the Armenian nuclear power plant," he noted.
