The CSTO Provided Clarification on a Technical Error, We Are Committed to Preventing Future Issues: Anna Naghdalyan

The Ministry of Economy of Armenia, in cooperation with our embassy in Russia, has addressed the issue regarding the sale of Armenian goods in the Moscow agricultural market. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan also touched upon this issue during the EAEU council session, deeming it unacceptable. We are committed to ensuring that such developments are prevented in the future.

This was stated today by Anna Naghdalyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a live broadcast on "Liberty" while answering questions from Facebook users, regarding what actions are being taken to ensure that agricultural product exporters do not face discrimination in Russia.

In response to another user's inquiry related to a post by Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Russia Today, where the user questioned whether any Russian diplomat had hinted at such a stance to the Armenian Foreign Minister, Anna Naghdalyan noted that no such issues had been raised or could be raised at any level within Armenian-Russian relations, and she is not authorized to comment on any journalist’s personal opinions.

When asked about the CSTO's tweet that published Margarita Simonyan's text, which was later removed, Naghdalyan stated that after the post appeared, they immediately contacted the CSTO through their permanent representative to understand the essence of the issue. "The issue has been resolved, and they provided clarification that this was a technical error. We are basing our actions on this explanation from the CSTO and are committed to ensuring that similar errors do not occur in the future."
