We Are Doing Everything Possible to Resolve the Armenia-Azerbaijan Border Conflict: Andrei Rudenko
Russia will mobilize all available resources to resolve the current escalation between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Andrei Rudenko, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, in an interview with TASS.
"I can assure you that we are doing everything possible and will employ the best qualities of Russian diplomacy and people’s diplomacy to resolve the border conflict between our fraternal countries, Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as to improve relations in general. Russia has the capabilities to do this; we have utilized them multiple times, including during the outbreak of military operations around Nagorno-Karabakh in 2016. I am confident that our capabilities will be put to use," he said.
Deputy Minister Rudenko noted, "The first priority for the international community is to stop the events occurring at the border as soon as possible over the last two days. In this regard, the balanced position of all member states of the Minsk Group is crucial. The Minsk Group, which is engaged in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, brings together more countries than just the three co-chairs. Those countries that surround and border the region should demonstrate maximum balance, responsibility, and restraint, including in public rhetoric."
