Vigen Avetisyan Sues Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Ministry of Finance

According to the 'Jnews' newspaper, former head of the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body Vigen Avetisyan has filed a lawsuit against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Ministry of Finance in the Administrative Court of Armenia on July 13 of this year.

The matter stems from a decision made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on June 10, which dismissed Vigen Avetisyan from his position as head of the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body in accordance with Article 8, Part 1 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia 'On Inspection Bodies'. Avetisyan is now demanding that the court obliges the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance to annul this decision, restore him to his former position, and recover the amount of enforced inactivity.

This case has been assigned to Judge Alexander Harutyunyan of the Administrative Court of Armenia. It is noteworthy that Vigen Avetisyan was appointed to this position in May 2019. At that time, 'Jnews' reported that Vigen Avetisyan is not a random person; he has been with the Armenian Ministry of Environment since 2002, holding various responsible positions and is considered a loyal associate of former Minister of Environment Aram Harutyunyan.
