Information Regarding Armenian Citizen Found in Azerbaijan Being Verified: NSS

The information regarding Armenian citizen Narek Sardarayan is currently under verification. This was stated by Arthur Gevorgyan, the spokesperson for the National Security Service (NSS), during a conversation with NEWS.am.

Earlier, Azerbaijani media reported that 30-year-old Narek Sardarayan had been detained by Azerbaijani soldiers near the Nakhchivan border. It is noted that Narek Sardarayan, a resident of the village of Nerk’in Khndzoresk in the Syunik region, was herding cattle in a border area.

In footage published online, Sardarayan claims to have crossed the border and sought political asylum in Azerbaijan. However, the man's relatives do not believe this version of events.
