“For God's Sake, Stop”: Mamedyarov to Journalists

Azerbaijani media outlets have contacted the country's Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov to learn his opinion on President Ilham Aliyev's dissatisfaction with his and his agency's work, reports minval.az.

According to the media outlet, the foreign minister did not provide any clear answers to the journalists. “For God's sake, stop. Do you have no other questions? What kind of question is that? And how can you ask something like that during such a time? Call Leyla Abdullayeva (the spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry) tomorrow, let her answer that question,” said Mamedyarov.

Earlier, we reported that President Ilham Aliyev expressed dissatisfaction with Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov's work. He emphasized that the minister should have reached an agreement with Armenia regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but unfortunately, he has not succeeded so far, as Armenia has not yet complied with the UN Security Council resolution. Aliyev noted that the foreign minister did not respond in any way on July 12, when events began at the Azerbaijan-Armenia border.
