Azerbaijan's Armed Forces Acknowledge Casualties, Reports Armenian Defense Ministry

The Armenian Ministry of Defense reports that on the eve of yesterday’s 24-hour ceasefire, Azerbaijani forces resumed their offensive operations, as announced by the President of Azerbaijan. After midnight, 100 Azerbaijani special forces attempted to advance in the direction of the ‘Anvakh’ position in the Tavush border zone, supported by artillery fire. However, due to the defensive actions of our soldiers, they were repelled, suffering significant losses, including some military equipment during the encounter.

This morning, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces media service acknowledged their casualties. Following the failure of the operation, Azerbaijani troops began shelling the villages in Tavush.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense has denied reports from Azerbaijani media claiming that Armenian armed forces used UAVs, which they purportedly shot down.

The main targets of the shelling in the Tavush border villages were Aygepar, Karmiraghbyur, Chinari, Movses, Tavush communities, and Berd city. Fortunately, there have been no casualties or injuries among the civilian population. Over ten houses and some infrastructure in our settlements have been damaged. A water pipeline in the Tavush-Nerkin Karmiraghbyur sector has been affected, with restoration efforts currently underway.

This morning, all civil defense groups in the region have been mobilized, and intensive work is ongoing in all directions to ensure the safety of civilians.

A commission has been established to assess and inventory the damaged residential areas and buildings, which will provide daily updates on the extent of the damage. Houses that are deemed unsuitable for restoration will be replaced with new constructions.
