All Evidence Indicates That Shelling of Civilian Settlements Is Targeted: Ombudsman
Today, the Azerbaijani side again shelled civilian settlements in Armenia’s Tavush region (Aigepar and others). The Ombudsman has received alerts from these areas and recorded public official information. Yesterday, the independent fact-finding team of the Ombudsman's office documented that the shelling predominantly occurs with these specific munitions.
All evidence leads to the conclusion that the shelling of civilian settlements is targeted. “Yesterday, we noted on-site that these munitions, upon hitting the target, immediately explode and turn into numerous shrapnel of various sizes, each of which can take lives or cause amputations. Not to mention the damage to property, especially to homes. The shelling of civilian settlements is a strictly condemnable phenomenon, and this is particularly the case with these munitions,” stated Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender, in a released statement.
