Aliyev Officially Dismisses Mamedyarov

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has officially dismissed Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov from his position. Aliyev has already signed the relevant decree.

According to RIA Novosti, the post of Foreign Minister will be taken over by the country's Minister of Education, Jeyhun Bayramov.

Mamedyarov had served as Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister since 2004. Previously, President Ilham Aliyev had subjected him to harsh criticism. During a meeting with ministers, Aliyev notably mentioned that he was unable to locate Elmar Mamedyarov on July 12.
