Erdogan Holds Phone Conversation with Trump
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump. According to the Turkish presidential office, the leaders discussed bilateral relations as well as issues related to regional conflicts, particularly the resolution of the Libyan crisis, as reported by ermenihaber.am.
“The presidents agreed to increase trade volume between the countries to $100 billion and to achieve lasting peace in Libya. They have reached an agreement to work more closely together as two allied states,” the statement said.
It is noteworthy that the White House also issued a statement regarding the conversation. It mentioned that: “Presidents Trump and Erdogan discussed the positive trade and economic relations between the U.S. and Turkey. Trump emphasized the need to resolve regional conflicts through negotiation.”
