Tragic Road Accident in Gegharkunik: GAZ-53 Overturns Multiple Times, Resulting in 1 Fatality and 1 Injury

Today, on July 14, a tragic road accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. According to Shamshyan.com, around 21:30, a GAZ-53 vehicle overturned several times in unknown circumstances on the road from the city of Gavar to Kulali, in a mountainous area.

As a result of the accident, 30-year-old Arman Khachikyan, a resident of Gavar, died at the scene, while another person was transported to the Gavar Medical Center with injuries.

Emergency services and an operational group from the Gavar Police Department arrived promptly at the accident site. The duty officer of the Traffic Police's 1-77 operational management center reported the incident to the Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the Armenian Investigative Committee, which dispatched an investigative team. A criminal case has been opened under the second part of Article 242 of the Armenian Criminal Procedure Code. The police are working to identify the injured party.
