Rescuers in Gyumri Remove 130 Vehicles from Blockages
On July 13 at 16:13, the National Crisis Management Center was informed by the Gyumri Meteorological Station that hail was falling in Gyumri (12 mm), and there was a strong wind (8 m/s, with gusts up to 16 m/s).
Starting from the second half of the day, the Shirak regional rescue department's Crisis Management Center received 780 calls regarding flooding of buildings, basements, plots, shops, and gardens, as well as vehicles blocked under bridges. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
In response to the calls, the operational group of the Shirak regional rescue department and the combat crews of the fire and rescue units were involved.
On July 14 at 00:30, a combat crew from the Fire and Rescue Unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Yerevan, along with a group from the Center for Special Rescue Operations, headed to Gyumri with three motor pumps intended for water drainage.
