It Turns Out that MPs Were Already Rewarded Before Transferring Money to the Coronavirus Fund
In recent days, as discussions about the remuneration of MPs have surfaced, they have quickly begun to justify that they have not received any rewards for four months and are instead transferring funds to fight the coronavirus. The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, himself made a post worthy of hearts and likes on Facebook, stating, 'With my initiative and the consent of the MPs, the monthly salaries of National Assembly deputies for March will be transferred to the treasury account established for supporting the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.'
However, there is a surprising revelation when we examine Ararat Mirzoyan's directives regarding the remuneration of the MPs. According to Aravot.am, before transferring to the coronavirus account, the Speaker had already rewarded himself, the deputy speakers, and all 132 MPs 30% of their official salary on March 3, 2020, with the K-38-A decree. Subsequently, on March 25, in other words, a second time within the same month, Mirzoyan rewarded the MPs again with 30% of their salary, and this time the rewarded amount was transferred to the coronavirus account, based on the K-53-A decree of March 25, 2020. Additionally, they had already received the February remuneration, again amounting to 30%, under the K-15-A decree on February 4, 2020.
