From September 1, 2020, children will go to school. This was officially stated by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Arayik Harutyunyan, during a live broadcast on Channel 1. He added that this is contingent upon the absence of a new outbreak of the pandemic; if the pandemic persists, they are still inclined to open schools and universities with certain safety protocols.

During the interview, Harutyunyan expressed that he has never understood why the history of the Armenian Church is separated from Armenian history. "I myself am a follower of the Armenian Apostolic Church, but I am against unnecessary religious fanaticism. Christianity has indeed become a national religion for us, but we have also had Paganism, which has held significance as well. I believe that religious teachings should be integrated into history textbooks, and the promotion of religion should be removed from schools, strictly prohibiting the entry of sects; however, the presence of a priest at special events is desired," the minister stated.

“Teachers will be given certain opportunities to create and exercise freedoms. Our goal is to educate a citizen of the Republic of Armenia who, upon leaving school, will be equipped with skills and knowledge, able to critique and analyze,” he added.

The full interview can be viewed in the video.
