Video: Protesters Storm Parliament Building in Serbia Against Quarantine Restrictions

A group of protesters in Serbia have stormed the parliament building in the capital city, Belgrade, in opposition to stricter restrictions due to the spread of the coronavirus.

According to Aljazeera.com, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić had earlier announced that due to the increase in coronavirus infections, they were forced to tighten anti-epidemic measures, including locking down the city of Belgrade over the weekend.

Following the president's announcement, thousands of disgruntled citizens gathered in the central square of Belgrade in front of the country's parliament. They blame the government for the spread of the virus, stating they are unwilling to endure enormous losses from another lockdown.

After some time, a group of protesters broke through the police barricade, smashed the entrance door of the parliament, and entered the building. However, moments later, police forces removed them from there.

Police deployed tear gas to disperse the protesters from the parliament building.
