Video: Man Verbally Abuses Police While Under the Influence of Alcohol – Clarification

A video has surfaced online regarding an incident between police officers and civilians in Stepanavan. This information has been reported by the Police.

The footage is explained as follows: allegedly, officers from the Stepanavan division of the police were detaining a citizen for not wearing a mask. It should be noted that on July 3, in Stepanavan, police officers carrying out extraordinary duties noticed a vehicle of the brand "Opel," with one of its passengers not wearing a mask.

The police informed the man of the violation and requested identification documents to draw up a report. While under the influence of alcohol, he failed to present the documents and verbally abused the police officers, not complying with their legal requests. The police officers attempted to detain him.

During this time, the man struck them while continuing to demonstrate inappropriate behavior. With the assistance of backup forces called to the area, the man was taken into custody at the Stepanavan police department. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 316, Part 1 of the Criminal Code.

The man has been arrested. Incidentally, the same individual, while also under the influence of alcohol last year, did not comply with the lawful demands of road police officers and deliberately damaged their service vehicle. A criminal case was also opened in that instance.
