Volunteers Vaccinated Against Coronavirus in Russia Feeling Well

Volunteers who received the coronavirus vaccine two weeks ago at the Burdenko Military Hospital are currently feeling well, with no negative reactions reported. This information was shared by the Russian Ministry of Defense, as reported by tass.ru.

“Two weeks after vaccination, the health status of the second group of participants in the trials of the coronavirus vaccine conducted by the Ministry of Defense of Russia in collaboration with the N.G. Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology remains consistently good, with no complications,” the statement from the ministry noted.

Svetlana Volchikhina, head of the therapeutic department of the hospital and co-researcher, mentioned that they have already passed the halfway mark of the intended stay for the volunteers at the hospital. “Volunteers are to remain in the hospital for another two weeks. Today, we took blood samples to understand how their immune system is functioning,” said Volchikhina.

According to Volchikhina, the second component of the vaccine will be administered to the volunteers next week, on the 21st day following the first vaccination. The “booster” version of the vaccine includes an additional enhancement of the body's protective functions.
