VIDEO: The State Revenue Committee Discovers Clothing and Mobile Phones Hidden from Customs Control
The State Revenue Committee continues to carry out monitoring measures aimed at identifying violations. The focus of the SRC employees is particularly on attempts to breach customs regulations. During the pandemic, some truck drivers have attempted to exploit the situation by circumventing customs control in order to import hidden goods into the country. However, such cases are under daily scrutiny by various divisions of the committee.
Recently, employees of the Eastern Customs Directorate of the State Revenue Committee inspected a vehicle operated by an Armenian citizen arriving from Georgia at the Bagratashen border checkpoint. During the visual inspection, newly hidden clothing was discovered in a specially designed compartment beneath the trailer of the truck.
In another incident, again at the Bagratashen checkpoint, yet another case of customs regulation violation was uncovered. When questioned by the customs officer, the truck driver claimed that only spare parts were subject to declaration in the vehicle. However, the visual inspection of the truck's cabin resulted in the discovery of various models of mobile phones hidden from customs control.
Documentation regarding the violation of customs rules has been prepared regarding these incidents. The State Revenue Committee urges citizens to refrain from violating customs regulations. Every attempt to circumvent the law will be exposed through the strict oversight of SRC employees.
