Urgent: 30 Million Drams Misappropriated, Internal Investigation Launched Into Former Police Chief
Recently, an article titled "Corrupt Exposures in the Police Force, Kept Secret" was published in one of the mass media outlets. We inform you that, based on this publication, an internal investigation has been launched in the police headquarters under the instruction of Police Chief Vahe Ghazaryan.
According to the aforementioned publication, former police chief and his two deputies, Arthur Martirosyan (known in the system as "Zo") and Hayk Mhrtyan (known as "Matik"), who were both classmates of Arman Sargsyan, have allegedly misappropriated 30 million drams intended for paying the salaries of undercover officers, yet these funds did not reach the appropriate individuals.
In another piece of news, it has been reported that Arman Sargsyan awarded police officers with 51 pieces of personalized firearms on the occasion of the First Republic Day, though some of those officers should not have been eligible for such awards due to low ranks and other reasons. Each weapon is worth approximately 2000 dollars.
