The Nomination of Hovhannes Khachatryan for Central Bank Council Member is Not Accidental: Who 'Mediated'?
Tomorrow, on June 8th, a meeting of the Standing Committee on Financial and Budgetary Affairs will take place in the National Assembly, during which the nomination of a candidate by 'My Step' for the vacant position of Central Bank Council member is set to be approved.
As is known, the candidate is Hovhannes Khachatryan. However, it turns out that his nomination by the ruling party is not incidental. According to information from the 'Zhoghovurd' daily, Hakob Simidyan, the secretary of the 'My Step' faction, and MP Armen Pambukhchyan of the same faction have proposed Hovhannes Khachatryan's candidacy, as he is a long-time friend of theirs.
According to our information, the faction members had other candidates, but preference was given to the candidate proposed by Simidyan and Pambukhchyan,” the newspaper writes.
