Today, Almost 100 Food Chain Operators Suspended for 24 Hours

Due to violations of the sanitary and hygienic requirements set by the decree of the Prime Minister of Armenia, the staff of the Food Safety Inspectorate has today suspended the activities of nearly one hundred food chain operators for 24 hours.

The operation of the "Amar" café-restaurant located in the Hrazdan Gorge of Yerevan has been suspended for 48 hours for violating nearly the entire spectrum of mandatory sanitary and hygienic norms. Issues included offering hookah, employees not wearing masks, and more than five people sitting at the same table. Additionally, records of employee temperature checks and disinfection measures were absent.

In the Nor Nork administrative district of Yerevan, intensified inspections in public catering establishments, stores, and production organizations have continued since yesterday. Many operators continue to show irresponsible behavior towards the established regulations, violating the sanitary and hygienic norms imposed due to the coronavirus.

However, several operators who had previously been found in violation and were already suspended for 24 hours have shown positive changes, with evident reductions or complete removals of deficiencies.

Inspections have been conducted across all regions of the republic. The inspectorate supports operators with consultations and guidance, while also reminding them of the more severe penalties expected in cases of repeated violations.
