Ijevan Police Conduct Surprise Inspections at Wood Processing Facilities
Recently, officers from the Tavush Regional Police Department and the Ijevan Division carried out enhanced surprise inspections aimed at identifying and preventing environmental violations.
Early in the morning, before the event began, police officers were briefed and got to work. Inspections were conducted at around ten wood processing and charcoal production facilities operating in several villages within the Ijevan Division’s jurisdiction.
A total of several dozen cubic meters of timber, boards of various sizes, dozens of bags of charcoal, containers for charcoal production, packing materials, a truck loaded with timber, firewood, several dozen cubic meters of waste, and more were discovered.
In some cases, the operators failed to present any documents verifying the legality of the materials found. Investigative materials are being prepared at the Ijevan Police Division regarding these cases. Professional inspections have been initiated. Such measures will continue in the future.
