VIDEO: My $30,000 House Sold by the State Revenue Committee for $2,000 Without My Knowledge, Citizen Reports

A house in the village of Aralez, Ararat province, which is estimated to be worth around $30,000, was reportedly sold for $2,000 through an electronic auction by a forced executor's decision, without the residents of the house being aware of the auction. This was reported to NEWS.am by human rights defender Mher Karagozian.

"These people take different types of loans from banks and, over time, make their payments on time as responsible bank customers and pay off the loans. At some point, they take out a $6,500 loan for agricultural purposes, then pawn gold worth $2,500, after which some calamity befalls them—car accidents or illnesses. This person, Spartak Aghababyan, falls ill, undergoes surgery, and after that, heavy physical work is simply prohibited for a long time. Later, his father dies. In short, misfortune upon misfortune, but nevertheless, one wants the world to collapse. You know that in Armenia, under any circumstances, banks and loans do not suffer; moreover, they benefit from it. What is interesting here is the criminal inactivity of the Revenue Committee, or shall I say, its activity—I leave that for public judgment. The State Revenue Committee must operate based on a judicial act, on the basis of a judge's decision. A judicial act gains legal force within a month and can be appealed," said the human rights defender.
