Transport Vehicles Carrying Standing Passengers Identified
On July 3, the inspection body of the Ministry of Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety of the Republic of Armenia, in cooperation with the RA Police, conducted another round of intensified and large-scale monitoring activities in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan. During the inspections aimed at public transportation operations, violations and deficiencies were identified. This was reported by the Government of Armenia.
In the course of activities related to transport vehicles operating on regular routes, vehicles were discovered that were again transporting passengers while standing. In the taxi passenger transportation system, as in nearly all previous cases, instances were found where transporting passengers in the front seat occurred, as well as cases where drivers were not wearing masks.
Due to the nature of the violations, appropriate administrative violation reports were prepared. Regarding the identified deficiencies, particularly cases where passengers and drivers were not correctly wearing masks, mandatory compliance instructions were provided by specialists of the inspection body. Active awareness and explanatory work was carried out on site concerning various deficiencies and the adherence to certain safety regulations.
It is emphasized that, according to the decision Number 110 of the RA Prime Minister dated June 3, the inspection body continues to conduct stringent monitoring and oversight activities, closely overseeing the process of ensuring the safe operation of public transport throughout the territory of the Republic.
