Stabbing Incident Near Gandzakar School: One Combatant Severely Injured
On July 3, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Tavush region. At around 03:20, the Ijevan Medical Center reported to the Ijevan police department that a citizen had been admitted with a diagnosis of "laceration of the spleen due to stabbing." This information was reported by shamshyan.com.
Police operatives and officers from the Tavush Regional Investigation Department of the Armenian Investigative Committee were dispatched to the hospital. They determined that the injured individual is 21-year-old Davit Petrosyan, a resident of Gandzakar village, who had been transported to the hospital from that village.
Doctors at the hospital informed the authorities that Davit Petrosyan is unable to provide an explanation regarding the incident. Tavush police and investigators discovered that earlier the same day, around 01:00, a conflict had occurred between Petrosyan and fellow villager 22-year-old Lurik Aghinyan in the area adjacent to the school in Gandzakar, during which Aghinyan stabbed Petrosyan.
The Tavush police and investigators are undertaking the necessary operational and investigative measures to locate the suspect Lurik Aghinyan and recover the weapon used in the crime. Investigative materials are being prepared by investigator Davtyan from the Tavush regional investigative department on the case.
