46-Year-Old Resident of Gyumri Arrested on Suspicion of Stabbing Fellow Citizen
On July 2, 2020, at 11:20 PM, a report was received from the 'Gyumri' Medical Center stating that a 54-year-old resident of Gyumri had been admitted with a penetrating stab wound to the left side of the abdomen and internal bleeding.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated by the Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee under the first part of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code (causing serious bodily harm intentionally). The 54-year-old man has been recognized as the victim.
The investigation revealed that on July 2, 2020, during an argument that broke out in a booth in front of one of the buildings on M. Mkrtchyan Street in Gyumri, a 46-year-old man struck his fellow citizen once with a knife he had in his possession.
As a result of the measures taken, the 46-year-old resident of Gyumri was apprehended on July 3, 2020, and during a personal search, the knife, which served as the instrument of the crime, was discovered. He has been arrested.
Throughout the investigation, several investigative actions have been carried out, including an examination of the site, seizure of clothing, and the appointment of forensic medical examinations. The investigation is ongoing.
