This Year We Will Have Unprecedented Scale of New and Renovated Healthcare Facilities: Torosyan
This year we will have an unprecedented scale of new and renovated healthcare facilities. This was announced today, July 2, at a government meeting by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, Arsen Torosyan.
“Apart from the 12 projects being carried out by the Urban Development Committee, we also have 2 major facilities to be constructed under the World Bank framework. The construction of the first one, Martuni Medical Center, will begin in the coming days. The tender for the complete construction of the Vayots Dzor Medical Center will also be announced soon. Both of these facilities will be built from scratch and will comply with all international standards.
Furthermore, we will soon have an opportunity for another urgent construction project, pending the signing of an agreement with the Eurasian Stabilization and Development Fund. Due to the coronavirus, we will build a new infectious hospital in Vanadzor. The old building of the Vanadzor Medical Center could not be renovated, nor did it meet the necessary conditions,” said the minister.
He added that after completing all these projects, we will practically not have any medical facility in the entire territory of Armenia that will require significant investment or capital renovation. Arsen Torosyan clarified that all of this will take 2-3 years to complete.
