I Have a Clear Proposal for All My Step Colleagues: Arsen Babayan

I have a clear proposal for all My Step MPs who voted in favor of constitutional amendments in two readings and claim that they did not violate the law. This was stated by human rights advocate and member of the Homeland Party, Arsen Babayan, on his Facebook page.

In particular, he writes: “An appeal to the 88 (+1) MPs of the National Assembly:

As you already know, three parties have jointly filed a report of a crime, presenting factual data about the usurpation of power by representatives of the legislative authority and other high-ranking officials, the overthrow of constitutional order, and the passage of powers. During this period, many My Step MPs have claimed in their interviews that they did not violate any laws over the past two years. Of course, we all know that those claims only provoke laughter.

Therefore, I have a clear proposal for all My Step MPs who voted in favor of constitutional amendments in both readings and claim that they did not violate the law.

I propose to make a public promise-declaration with the following content: ‘I, MP (for instance, Lilit Makunts), publicly promise that:

1. If Hrayr Tovmasyan, Alvina Gyulumyan, Felix Tokhyan, or Hrant Nazaryan win against the Republic of Armenia through any international court and if the court obliges the Republic of Armenia to pay any compensation or damages, then I commit myself to pay those compensations and damages. If the total amount of compensation and damages exceeds my entire property, I commit to compensate for the full amount of my existing property.
2. If any international court makes a decision as indicated in point 1, and I am holding any public position (state, municipal, or service) at that time, I will immediately submit my resignation.

Dear journalists, I ask you to ask My Step MPs whether they are ready to make this promise-declaration at every possible opportunity; if so, let them announce it publicly.

It will now become clear which of these MPs believe that they did not violate the law.

As the primary addressee of these unconstitutional actions, I mention Vahagn Hokikimyan and wait for his public promise-declaration.
