21 New Kindergartens to Open in Armenia on September 1 with Fresh Furnishings

The government has reallocated budget funds from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, allocating over 1.9 billion drams for various capital expenditures. Minister Arayik Harutyunyan stated that the project includes the renovation of seven colleges, funding for the modernization of ten high schools, partial or total renovations at four high schools, and improvements to the physical conditions of 30 primary or secondary schools. These improvements will include the construction of ramps for vulnerable children, restroom renovations, the establishment of support rooms, the reconstruction of one school, the construction of one vocational school, the installation of heating and ventilation systems in the Museum of Armenian History, the renovation of the boiler house at the Sundukyan State Academic Theatre, and various works at the Spendiaryan National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet.

Arayik Harutyunyan also added that construction is in full swing at eight high schools as part of the education improvement program. “We have experienced interruptions in two schools due to the coronavirus, but we have achieved over 80% completion. On September 1, we will have 21 new kindergartens across Armenia, all completely new with their furnishings,” he stated.
