We Will Soon Have Ten Daily Deaths: Prime Minister Pashinyan on COVID-19 Situation in the Country

We will soon have ten daily deaths. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this after a meeting of the commandant's office.

According to him, there were 525 new cases yesterday. "This means that based on this statistic, we will inevitably have ten deaths in the near future," Pashinyan noted.

As of today, there are 19,000 active COVID-19 patients in the country, of whom 2,106 are hospitalized. The condition of 536 patients is classified as severe, while 117 are critically ill. Pneumonia has been recorded in 1,730 patients. Ten new deaths were reported yesterday, bringing the total number of deaths to 453.

"The mortality statistics for the first five months of 2020 are favorable. We had fewer deaths than in the same period last year. Unfortunately, I must note that this statistic has changed, and in June, compared to June of last year, we experienced nearly 30% higher mortality. Although these figures are not entirely linked to COVID-19, the current state of the coronavirus significantly contributes to this factor," Pashinyan added.
