Violations Found at the Community Food Facility in Akunk
Specialists from the Fire and Technical Safety Division of the Territorial Inspectorate of the Ministry of Urban Development of Armenia conducted inspections at a public food facility located in the Akunk community.
The inspections revealed that several fire safety regulations, as stipulated in inspection sheets, were not adhered to. Specifically, the structural elements had not been treated with flame retardant solutions or coatings. The buildings of the facility were not equipped with automatic fire alarm systems. Additionally, doors in the restaurant do not open outward when more than 15 people are present simultaneously. The facility lacked the necessary initial firefighting equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
In response to these violations, the inspectors drafted a report and implemented administrative accountability measures regarding adherence to fire safety normative documents. The director was given an order to rectify the deficiencies, with clear deadlines for compliance with fire safety requirements.
Additionally, the specialists of the Territorial Inspectorate conducted informational and explanatory work concerning the maintenance of fire and technical safety regulations for commercial and public food facilities with an area of 200 m2 or more, ensuring safety for individuals during a fire, evacuation procedures, and the actions of personnel and responsible officials in the event of a fire.
