State of Emergency is a Direct Salvation for Authorities: Abovian

MP Arman Abovian from the Prosperous Armenia Party has posted on his Facebook page: "Dear people, without exaggeration, the situation in the country is very serious. Serious negative processes are underway around Amulsar, a widespread public protest against bank robbery has ripened, dissatisfaction over the increase in property tax is not fading, jobs are being cut every day, the tourism and related service sectors have died out, small and medium businesses are gradually fading away, relations with allied countries are tense, Turkey is increasingly taking anti-Armenian steps in its domestic and foreign policy, Azerbaijan is evidently preparing for an attack (we will discuss this topic separately), the Constitution has become some incomprehensible anti-legal 'paper', the fight against the coronavirus has factually failed... and so on, and so forth, and so forth. I, of course, understand that the state of emergency is a direct salvation for the authorities, as it allows them to drastically limit the extent to which people can express public dissent. On the other hand, the authorities do not stop their populist, demagogic, rude, and aggressive legal and informational campaign against the largest opposition party (referring naturally to the Prosperous Armenia Party) and in general against everyone who dares to speak about the disgraceful situation in the country. Now the question is: do they at least understand what grave consequences await the country... or do they stubbornly push the country towards the abyss, having no care for the people?"
