Shooting Incident Targeting Vehicle in Malatia Results in Arrests
According to Shamshyan.com, on June 30, two individuals were arrested: 21-year-old Edgar Arakelyan, a resident of Andranik Street in Yerevan, and 23-year-old Sargis Avetisyan, who lives on Isakov Avenue in Yerevan. They were arrested in connection with a criminal case initiated over an incident that occurred near building 149 on Andranik Street in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district.
Police and investigators have established that on that day, around 15:30, a quarrel took place in the yard of the specified building between S. Avetisyan, E. Arakelyan, and an individual named Narek. During the altercation, S. Avetisyan struck E. Arakelyan repeatedly on the head with an object resembling a bat, leaving him helpless, and fled in an unidentified vehicle.
It has also been revealed that E. Arakelyan discharged his firearm towards the vehicle he was fleeing in. The police and the investigative department are undertaking necessary operational and investigative measures to identify the individual Narek and to recover the baseball bat, the gun used in the crime, and the vehicle.
Several citizens gathered at the scene, who declined to speak on camera, stated: "One of the participants in the fight, S. Avetisyan, is the son of ‘Neptun’s’ Hamik, who frequently finds himself in the center of conflicts in Bangladesh, yet emerges unscathed each time, likely due to his powerful father and being in cahoots with one of the deputy chiefs of the Malatia police department. If the incidents he was involved in were properly assessed, he wouldn’t be using a bat today, and Edgar probably wouldn’t have fired shots from his illegally possessed gun in self-defense. We want to believe that this time, the son of ‘Neptun’ Hamik will be held accountable for his hooliganism, and even the deputy chief of operations of the Malatia police, Garik Sargsyan, who spends more time figuring out how journalists know about these incidents rather than focusing on his primary duties, won’t be able to help him this time."
