Video footage near St. John Chapel triggers internal investigation

A video has surfaced online showing a crowd of people near the St. John Chapel in Qaltakhchi, gathered without masks or protective measures. The Armenian Police have reported this matter.

As a result, following the directive of the police chief, an internal investigation has been launched by the Main Department of Public Safety Assurance of the Police.

In recent days, we have repeatedly warned about the dangers of visiting pilgrimage sites, tourist attractions, and participating in mass events. We urge everyone once again to refrain from mass gatherings for the sake of everyone’s health, to wear masks, and to maintain social distancing.
