WRed
The European People's Party (EPP) regrets that the National Assembly of Armenia has adopted amendments to the Constitution that immediately terminate the activities of the President of the Constitutional Court and three other judges of the Court. The party made an announcement on its Twitter page.
"EPP regrets that Armenia's ruling majority has voted in favor of constitutional amendments, contrary to the Venice Commission's assertion that this does not align with its recommendations," the statement said.
The EPP expressed hope that Armenia will strengthen its cooperation with the Venice Commission on reform issues, solidify democratic institutions, and ensure the independence of the judiciary.
