Serzh Sargsyan's Office Responds to Nikol Pashinyan's Spokesperson's Statement

NEWS.am – The office of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, has commented on a Facebook post by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's spokesperson Mane Gevorgyan regarding Sargsyan's statements today.

The office’s response is as follows:

“Honestly, one can only sympathize with the spokesperson holding the position and yet to comprehend the actual functions intended for this role, who is obliged to continually publish the text of their unstable leader, vulnerable from legal and all aspects, under their own signature. Instead of fulfilling their duties, the press secretary is forced to make unfounded and unproven allegations against Nikol Pashinyan’s opponents, which risks leading to a defamation lawsuit together with their leader. As far as we know, there is already such a case in court. In the future, there certainly will not be a lack of these cases. Lies, defamation, and slander should have no place in Armenia.

PS 1: What is the invitation to Aliyev’s wife to drink tea in Stepanakert and ensure her favorite music, mugham?

PS 2: Is the 'dukh' written on your hats and shirts insufficient to respond to Aliyev?

PS 3: Your manipulations regarding 1980s weapons, which have been repeatedly clarified and disproven at a professional level, continue to be repeated, but do not forget to explain how those weapons resulted in over 1,000 Azerbaijani casualties in 2016, as your Prime Minister proudly noted on his Facebook page, while the Armenian side had 75 casualties. When the time comes, Serzh Sargsyan will give you an accessible lecture on 1980s weapons. The Armenian side has always fought with the weapons it had and has won. Your beloved ‘cultured’ Aliyev is a witness.

PS 4: It is the peak of absurdity and one of the classic instances of defamation when for years those receiving payments from foreign countries and organizations label others as the ‘fifth column’.

PS 5: We regret that the Prime Minister's press secretary, lacking either professional experience or understanding of politics, rushed to rejoice and draw conclusions from Serzh Sargsyan's statement ‘Nikol Pashinyan was right, I was wrong’, the essence of which will, after President Sargsyan presents it, undoubtedly leave no room for that joy.”
