A Classic Example of a Woman Lacking Independence: 'Word War' Among Council Members

Tehmine Vardanyan, a member of the Yerevan Council from the 'Light' faction, has responded to a Facebook post made by Isabella Abgaryan, a member from the 'My Step' faction.

Abgaryan shared from a council meeting that took place on June 24, during which a heated argument occurred between Vardanyan and Mayor Hayk Marutyan. The council member specifically wrote: 'Find one difference or how quickly can you change your place when someone stands in front of you without a mask.'

In response to this post, Vardanyan commented on her own page: 'Considering the age-related differences and issues, I did not want to comment on this photo; however, I must say that I feel deep sympathy for my colleague. Especially, reading the comments, I understand what a classic example of a woman lacking independence can look like. How much venom there is... I feel sorry... By the way, I wonder if Marutyan has noticed that one of the council members is sitting directly in front of him with his mask down. Nevertheless, his words do not scare or intimidate Marutyan. He has no problem silencing anyone.'
