Water Transfer from Sarsang Reservoir to Upper Tarar River to Begin Soon: Araik Harutyunyan

On June 25, the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, received the head of the Martakert regional administration, Haik Bakhshiyan, to discuss the existing issues in the region and potential solutions.

In his report, the regional head provided information on the progress of state programs in the area, ongoing harvest activities, and urgent issues requiring immediate attention. He specifically addressed the shortage of drinking and irrigation water in certain communities due to drought, as well as issues related to housing construction and the reconstruction of intercommunity roads.

The President of Artsakh noted that within the framework of social program implementation, 100 million AMD will be allocated from the state budget for the procurement of building materials, and an additional loan of 100 million AMD will be provided to the “Jraberdshin” company to address urgent problems arising during construction work.

Addressing agricultural issues in the region, Araik Harutyunyan mentioned that the government will support land users who have suffered losses this year due to low wheat yields by providing them with wheat seeds. He added that the irrigation issue in the fields of the Martakert region will soon be resolved, as the transfer of water from the Sarsang Reservoir to the upper part of the Tarar River will begin shortly.

According to the President's words, significant financial resources will be allocated for the paving of community roads and for addressing the housing issues of fallen freedom fighters, first-grade war veterans, large families, and other social groups.
