Police Attempt to Detain Head of Constitutional Court Staff
On Baghramyan Avenue, police attempted to unlawfully detain Edgar Ghazaryan, the head of the Constitutional Court staff, on the evening of June 25. This was stated by lawyer Mihran Poghosyan during an interview with Tert.am.
"The police stopped Edgar Ghazaryan's vehicle unlawfully and attempted to detain him. This action is connected to the Prosperous Armenia party filing a petition challenging the constitutional amendments in the Constitutional Court, and the authorities have taken action as a result," he said, noting that he was heading to the scene.
According to the lawyer, this constitutes pressure and an illegal action carried out by the government against a staff member of the Constitutional Court. Later, Mihran Poghosyan reported that Edgar Ghazaryan had not been detained.
