Government Approves Reconstruction of State Significance Roads

The government has made a decision to ensure the reconstruction of state significance roads by reallocating funds in the 2020 state budget and making amendments to previously accepted decisions. Consequently, it is proposed to allocate 1,732,805.2 thousand AMD for the reconstruction and author supervision services of the M-3 segment from the Turkish border to Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir-Georgian border. Additionally, 434,645.0 thousand AMD is designated for the reconstruction of the M-9, M-1-Talin-Karakert-Turkish border segment along with its supervision services.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, addressing the decision, emphasized that capital expenditures are among the most crucial tools to solve unemployment-related issues. Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister Suren Papikyan informed that the situation regarding this issue is not bad, and everything is getting back on track. 'You know that we had some problems with technical supervision; we had a winning technical supervision company that waited until the end and then withdrew from fulfilling its obligations. We took measures to involve another technical supervisor.' He added, 'I would just like to note that apart from the approximately 22 billion AMD allocated by the government for capital expenditures, after confirming this decision, we will have around 31 billion AMD approved expenditure for the implementation of the declared road construction projects as of today.'

The decision was adopted at the government's session today.
