Announce Snap Elections and Be Sure the People Will Clearly Show Who is a Political Corpse Buried in Populism: Abovian to the Prime Minister

Arman Abovian, a deputy from the Prosperous Armenia faction in the National Assembly, made a post on his Facebook page regarding Prime Minister Pashinyan's speech today in the parliament. He specifically noted that Armenian citizens once again witnessed how, through a loud and contradictory speech, an attempt is being made to intimidate the political opposition.

Abovian's post states: "The frantic festival of populism continues. Today, Armenian citizens again witnessed how, shouting and with contradictory theses, an attempt is being made to intimidate the political opposition. However, today’s speech can confidently be qualified as a self-confession, indicating that a fierce political pursuit against the opposition and dissenters is taking place in Armenia. On the other hand, after a half-hour of panicked shaking, an attempt is being made to prove to people that ‘the yogurt is black.’ Yes, dear ones, we are talking about the Prime Minister's speech which, in essence, does not differ in tone or content from the 'fairy tales' of old and meaningless rulers from the past, and of course, from the long-standing 'dreams' of the authorities to rid themselves of opposing critics by substituting compliant political executors in the political arena.

Just one question... Mr. Prime Minister, who has given you the right to seriously decide who will be in parliament, who has given you the right to classify citizens of Armenia and political forces, and what is it that has you so upset? If you are such a 'brave' government, then gather your 'courage' and announce snap parliamentary elections, because shouting about political corpses is very easy and vibrant, but meaningless... Do you have the courage, authorities? What a mess you have thrown yourselves into, to fall into such shocks. Although today’s speech is the brightest proof that apart from threats and manipulations, there is nothing else in your hands.

You talk about BHK, you talk about political ends, and you make speeches on the level of a 'meeting' from the high podium of the National Assembly. I understand what your trembling is based on... you know better than anyone that you and your government have simply failed, you understand very well that in essence you have no counter-arguments to refute the facts expressed by BHK (in all aspects), you know very well that your government bears direct responsibility for the situation in the country, and that is precisely why your and your teammates’ inadequate aggressive behavior towards those who voice the truth arises.

You talk about bribes, well, let me remind you that during the 2018 elections (according to rumors going around), at your instruction, law enforcement agencies were tearing themselves apart to put the guilt of the same bribes on our shoulders, hundreds of our party members were detained, people were being intimidated to supposedly prove that we distributed election bribes... you didn’t succeed... I hope you remember.

You say that we did not come to the parliament today because we have a problem looking into the eyes of the people... you have the problem of looking straight into the eyes of the deputies, as (... these rumors floating around) you were forcing infected government deputies to come and vote either for the Constitutional Court or the disgraceful decision to strip Tsarukyan of his immunity. Now how do you look into the eyes of your teammates when you are talking about the will of the people while simultaneously strengthening the number of your ‘guardians’ every day? Who are you so afraid of... could it be the same 'proud citizens' that you have been feeding only with populism and PR for the past two years?

I repeat, no one has given you and your government the right to make decisions in place of the people, you won’t be able to do it, forget about it. Be consistent in your reasoning, announce snap elections and be sure that the people will clearly show who is a political corpse buried in populism."
