4 More Hospitals to Register Births
Birth assistance facilities "Saint Gregory the Illuminator," "Grigor Narekatsi," "Shengavit," and "Astghik" medical centers will also begin registering births of children. This was announced by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Rustam Badasyan, in a post on his Facebook page.
"Let's end the day with very good news. Do you remember that on March 8 of this year, we launched a program to register births of children on-site at three medical organizations providing the largest amount of birth assistance in Yerevan? Today, four more medical centers have joined these three: 'Saint Gregory the Illuminator,' 'Grigor Narekatsi,' 'Shengavit,' and 'Astghik.' This pilot program aimed at making public services more accessible to the population has been realized by the directive of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan and with the support of the Ministry of Health and the Yerevan City Hall.
This means that births of children will be registered on-site in seven medical institutions in Yerevan, and other functions specified by law will also be carried out. I would like to remind that the initial phase of the program included the following medical organizations: Erebuni Medical Center (maternity hospital), Republican Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics, and Gynecology, and the Scientific Research Center for Maternal and Child Health Protection.
At the designated places in these seven medical organizations, the following state registrations will be conducted for this purpose: the state registration of a child's birth, the state registration of paternity recognition, and the state registration of marriage. The program will be continuous, and we will gradually expand it to all medical organizations providing birth assistance throughout the Republic," noted the Minister of Justice.
