Prime Minister Comments on Arrest of NSS Official

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, shared a video on his Facebook page and responded to the arrest of the head of the NSS regional department for Ararat.

“As a result of NSS actions, a high-ranking NSS official has been arrested—the head of the NSS Ararat regional department. No manifestation of corruption will go unanswered,” the Prime Minister wrote.

Earlier, it was reported that there were cases of illegally alienating community-owned lands, organized formal auctions driven by public officials, causing significant damage to communities, and concealing the crimes committed by persons carrying out public service. Those involved included officials from the communities of Mkhchyan and Shahumyan in the Ararat region, as well as those holding key positions in the Ararat regional administration and the National Security Service of Armenia.
