As a lawyer, I feel a sense of shame for what happened in our National Assembly yesterday: Tovmasyan

During a press briefing in front of the Constitutional Court, the President of the Court, Hrayr Tovmasyan, commented on the National Assembly's decision regarding constitutional amendments. According to him, the questions directed at him may pertain to legal or political matters, and he can respond to legal questions that do not relate to the draft in question, as it may be subject to discussion in the Constitutional Court.

“As for political assessments, I must say, showing great restraint, that as a lawyer, I simply feel a sense of shame for what happened in our National Assembly yesterday,” said Hrayr Tovmasyan.

In response to the question of whether he would contest the amendments legally if he were to lose his position as President of the Court, Hrayr Tovmasyan stated, “In such situations, an individual does not have the right to judicial protection within the domestic system.”
