Egypt Prepares to Invade Libya to Protect Its Borders
WRed
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has called on the Egyptian army to prepare fully, stating that Egypt can legally invade Libya. This was reported by Reuters. According to the state leader, the aim of using military force will be to protect Egypt's borders, which stretch 1,200 km, as well as to achieve a ceasefire.
Al-Sisi is supported in this decision by the UAE and Saudi Arabia. He has stated that Egypt has received direct threats from "terrorist mercenaries and militias" backed by Libya, thus making any military intervention from Cairo now legitimate.
